Dominick's Christmas list

If Santa were to ask Dominick what he wants for Christmas, this is what he would say (as of last night, anyway):

Bertie bus

Ball thing that shoots balls on you

His very own paper clip

Batman

Years from now, when Dominick's gift requests total hundreds of dollars, I'll wistfully look back upon this first Christmas list of his. It's so modest. Awesome. Unfortunately, we don't know what ball thing Dom is talking about. And I didn't know he cared for Batman. Batman isn't Thomas!

Ok, I've got dibs on the paper clip!

No, I was planning to get him a paper clip! Don't steal my idea. Actually, I got a little plastic storage box that I'm going to fill with paper clips, rubber bands, and a roll of Scotch tape. He'll be in heaven.

Fortunately, Dominick doesn't know about paintball guns yet. Yikes--the mess! His Nerf shooters are driving me crazy enough.

It is so funny you should mention the paper clips... we were walking through Deals recently and Maria grabbed a box of Paper Clips and said, "Oooh! I love these! Santa bring them to me?" The other parents in the aisle looked at me as if I was a terrible mother for only allowing my child paper clips for Christmas... What is it about those darned things they love so much??

How funny! I don't know what the fascination is, but hey, paper clips are cheap and fairly non-destructive. Dom also loves staplers, but wouldn't you know we're out of staples and haven't gotten around to buying more. He used them up stapling all around the newspaper a couple of weeks ago, then added a large binder clip for good measure.

When the kids are at the office with me paperclips are the first thing they go to. My office is filled with toys for them and all they want is paperclips. Doms list is nice...John is certain that every toy he sees on TV or in the store Santa is going to bring him...I hope he's not disappointed.

I wonder what he'd do with a hole punch?

He loves hole punches, too, so I've had to put ours on top of the bookshelf, along with the tape and other contraband stuff (pool noodle, vacuum cleaner attachment, anything that's been thrown or hit with, etc.).
