Update on Noel's finger

Just a quick post before Noel and I join Dominick for his preschool's Fruit Day picnic. I realized earlier this week that Noel's fingernail is growing back. It's about halfway there. Noel is quite the little trooper. At the hospital, the doctors were less than optimistic about his fingertip surviving because the blood supply was not intact, nor were they optimistic about his nail growing back because the laceration occurred right where it generates. Well, look at him now! It seems as though he'll come through this with nothing more than a scar around his finger.

That's awesome! What a relief! Now that you've been through that horrible experience and survived, you'll be that much stronger for handling the NEXT disaster...something that's sure to come with 2 little boys!

Down here we say "answered prayer!" I was hopeful that he is so young and still as yet somewhat "unformed" that his body would mend itself.

Yes, there will be another disaster. Dom needs to learn to be less "uncontrolled" when he is in the middle of fun. He may be too young to think of consequences yet, so I hope he retains a memory of how he acquired cut lips, lost teeth, bloody noses, and such. However, with a little brother coming up behind him and probably imitating him, think of the possibilities in the future! You should probably have 1st Aid kits on each level of your house. You will need them!
